For The City

We want to be a church that loves its city and exists to bless the people that dwell there in tangible ways. The Scriptures teach us that the Church is not to be an isolated cloister focused on itself, but a movement for good and blessing.

For the City is our effort to love our city and to make a difference in the lives of the most marginalized, oppressed, and poor dwelling within the city. We want to practice the way of Jesus by loving people freely in the ways they need help the most.

Jesus is the ultimate man. He is more disciplined, faithful, loving, righteous, and courageous than any other man to ever have walked the earth. The problem many men have with church and Christianity is that Jesus has been portrayed to them as a homeless hippie that they could take in a street fight. It is hard to follow, submit to, and worship someone when you think that you are braver, stronger and tougher than they are. It is time that we recover the masculinity of Jesus and therefore recover our own masculinity at the same time. By looking to Jesus and Scripture we can learn what it actually means to be a man and just how great Jesus really is.
