Ok...so maybe not all of the verses we will look at end up on coffee mugs, but they have all been merchandised in some way.
For whatever reason, our American-Christian subculture loves to take Scripture passages out of context and put them on coffee cups/mugs, pens, post-it notes, hats, bags, t-shirts, and on and on...
The problem is this: do we ever stop and ask ourselves what the Bible is really saying with those beloved verses? What would our lives look like if we actually lived out and obeyed what those famous passages say?
Starting in January, we will start a new sermon series looking at 8 popular/misused/disobeyed/merchandised verses out there to discover what the Bible really has to say.
